17 victims of the weather

Kabul: extreme cold weather killed 17 people, mostly children at a refugee camp in Afghanistan, according to Amnesty International. The death happened the first two weeks of this month here and Herat, home of half a million refugees the war. "Their deaths can be avoided," said Amnesty Asia Pacific Deputy Director, Melanie Truscott in reality.
Winter, 100 people mostly children and the elderly die in refugee tent and Afghanistan as well as international donors prevent the tragedy prompted.
The latest death is showing a winter aid to hundreds of thousands of people living in refugee camps across the country this is not enough, "said Truscott.
"The death of children and the elderly among the death showed that it is important to protect them from cold weather," he said. AFP
