Thailand hastily dividing

Narathiwat: Thai security forces launched a massive operation to hunt separatist efforts of the armed forces who fled after a failed attack military base in Bacho district, Narathiwat.

Sixteen of the 50 assailants armed with AK-47 rifles and M-16 wearing military uniform confirmed killed while trying to stormed the camp at 1 am local time after shot more than a soldier.

Security forces seized 16 rifles, some grenades, two motorcycles and a pickup truck after the battle, which lasted for an hour.

The attack forced the enhanced security controls in the region to prevent any counter-attacks.

30 escape

About 30 of them are believed to have fled, some believed to be injured, with about 500 members of the various security agencies involved.

The residents asked not out of houses in four districts namely Bareh Tai Nua, Balukasamoh, Bareh and Kayohmati in Bacho district and two more in Sai Thong and Don Sai Pattani's Mae Kaen, during operation.
Chief of the 4th Army, Udomchai Thammasarotrat as head of Internal Security Operations Command, said the unofficial curfew ended 24 hours at 6 am yesterday meant to safeguard the population.

Residents feared that the public security forces injured while hunting the militants might saki balance of planting bombs and sharp iron during the escape, he said.

Military spokesman, Colonel Pramote Prommin, said attacks on the marine base aimed at revenge killings and the arrest of the leader of the separatist Suhaidee Tahe, 31, was recently suspected of shooting and killing a teacher in Narathiwat, Chonlathee Charoenchol.
